Glorious Ruins!

Glorious Ruins- JTH (Hillsong Live 2013)

Verse 1:
When the mountains fall
And the tempest roars
You are with me
When creation falls
Still my soul will soar
On Your mercy

I walk through the fire
With my head lifted high
And my spirit will
Rise in Your story
I’ll look to the cross
As my failure is lost
In the light of your glorious grace

Verse 2
When the world caves in
Still my hope will cling
to Your promise
When my courage ends
Let my heart find strength
In Your presence

Chorus 2
Let the ruins come to life
In the beauty of Your name
Rising up from the ashes
God forever You reign
And my soul will find refuge
In the shadow of Your wings
I will love you forever
And forever I’ll sing

The idea of ruins come alive.

Zechariah 11:3
There is the sound of wailing shepherds!
For their glory is in ruins.
There is the sound of roaring lions!
For the pride of the Jordan is in ruins.

Ruins speak a lot of different things. The temples – glory of God filled the temple of God.

Ezra 9:8
And now for a little while grace has been shown from the Lord our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a peg in His holy place, that our God may enlighten our eyes and give us a measure of revival in our bondage.

Glorious ruins spoke of the old testament temples.
Glorious ruins spoke of creation of man

What God created was glorious. But when we fell, the hope of humanity was ruin.

You might be facing a ruin of dream, career or whatever. The wonderful news is in Jesus, the ruins come alive! The ruins come alive from ashes!

God can breathe ruins alive!!
Jesus left the glory of heaven, empty Himself. So that we can see what is glory became ruins.

Man take what is glorious ruin. Jesus take what is ruin glorious!

Whatever ruin represent to us, God will cause all ruins come alive! What was ruins became alive!!

It seems like the hope of disciples were in ruins when Jesus went to the cross. I know my Redeemer lives! What was ruins became glorious!

Ruins can be our past glory days. Ruins can represent the scars of the past battles. Ruins can be neglect, abandon. The good news is ruins come alive gloriously! We shall have testimonial out of this!

Ezra 9:9
For we were slaves. Yet our God did not forsake us in our bondage; but He extended mercy to us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to revive us, to repair the house of our God, to rebuild its ruins, and to give us a wall in Judah and Jerusalem.

To rebuild its ruins! Ruins coming to live!

Ezra 3:10
When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, the priests stood in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise the Lord, according to the ordinance of David king of Israel.

Praise the Lord.

Ezra 3:11
And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord:
“For He is good,
For His mercy endures forever toward Israel.” Then all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.

They sang responsively!!!

Don’t underestimate the power of praise! Lift praise! Praise is the entry to His gate!

Psalms 100:4
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.

If your dream is ruined, enter into His gate with praise! Thanksgiving!!
Be thankful

Glory! The Lord does the fighting for me!!!

Ruins come to live! Know the power of praise!!!

We start with praise because this is the entry point!

Ezra 3:13
so that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people, for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the sound was heard afar off.

Ezra 4:4-5
Then the people of the land tried to discourage the people of Judah. They troubled them in building, and hired counselors against them to frustrate their purpose all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia.

Ezra 4:6
Rebuilding of Jerusalem Opposed
In the reign of Ahasuerus, in the beginning of his reign, they wrote an accusation against the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem.

Are u just discouraged, confused? Something we believe God for is ruined, praise Jesus! Praise all day long! Let everything that has breathe, praise the Lord!!!

John 11:38-40
Lazarus Raised from the Dead
Then Jesus, again groaning in Himself, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it. Jesus said, “ Take away the stone.”
Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to Him, “Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days.”
Jesus said to her, “ Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”

U will see what is ruined becomes the glory of God!!!

Jesus started praising God when He was confronted with death in front of Him
John 11:41
Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “ Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.

John 11:44
And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “ Loose him, and let him go.”

The ruins came alive!!! In the beauty of His name!!!

Praise our ways in God-given miracles!!

Start confessing the word of God!

The power of praise was how the old testament temple was rebuilt!

Ezra 6:14
So the elders of the Jews built, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they built and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the command of Cyrus, Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.

God’s word prosper on the prophesy. The word of God speaks into our future. Bible is not just history book, it breathes life into our future!!

Haggai 2:6-9
“For thus says the Lord of hosts:‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts.”

Is the Lord of Host that fulfil the prophesy!!

Whatever i am facing ruins, can u believe through the word of God, He breathes in life!!

This is what glorious ruins look like!!!

The presence of the Lord is our glorious ruins! He can restore us!! The word of the Lord is unshakable! All of our hopes is in Him!!

Zechariah 9:9
The Coming King
“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!
Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your King is coming to you;
He is just and having salvation,
Lowly and riding on a donkey,
A colt, the foal of a donkey.

The mountain shall become a plain.

Ezra 7:10
For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel.

Prepared the heart – seek the Word – To do it! (He live the word), lead the word (to teach)

Spend time alone with God.

Ezra 8:21
Fasting and Prayer for Protection
Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him the right way for us and our little ones and all our possessions.

Seek God for the Right way? The power of seeking God! We shall see ruins come to live!!!

Conclusion –

So the 3 steps of having your ruins restored beyond it’s former glory are:

1) Praise the Lord. To start the process of restoration.
2) Prohecy restoration upon your ruins.
3) Prepare to receive the restoration from the Lord.
